Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009/EC On the 30th of November 2009, the new European Cosmetic Regulation, EC 1223/2009, was published in the official journal of the European Commission, hence putting it into force. The EC 1223/2009 is aimed at replacing the current Cosmetics Directive 76/768/EEC.
Most of the provisions of this new regulation are expected to be applicable under specific application dates such as July 11th, 2013 or January 11th 2012 when mentioning the new database aimed at European Notifications.
The general objectives of this New Regulation are to cover the ubiquitous gaps from the current Directive (e.g., clear definition of roles and obligations of the European ‘Responsible Person’), which lead to the several amendments in the past, and to once again, harmonize the European Market.

CLP Regulation 1272/2008/EC The Regulation 1271/2008/EC entered into force on the 20th of January 2009. This Regulation concerns the Classification, Labeling and Packaging (CLP) of chemicals in the European Union and is based on the international recommendations of the Global Harmonized System (GHS).
Since 2010, the regulation is mandatory for substances and from June 2015 it will become mandatory for mixtures as well.
REACh Regulation 1907/2006/EC The Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of Chemical substances (REACh) Regulation 1997/2006/EC came into force on June 1st, 2007.
REACh aims at improving the protection of the human health and the environment through – earlier identification of the chemical substances proprieties and greater responsibility placed on the industry in managing high risk chemicals and providing information on them.
